I’ve been playing with Pixelmator and man is it pretty awesome. Don’t write it off because “It’s not Photoshop.” Pixelmator is a more Mac-friendly Photoshop application that is $60.
Here’s a litte tutorial that I made up for you guys to see how I made this heart and how you can too!
Quick tutorial on how to make my pretty heart. I used a Gaussian blur for the shadow and layer-clipping masks for the gradients.
To make the shape of the heart I made a rectangle and put a circle on the tip, making half of a pill shape. Then I copy and paste’d it and rotated it 90° and that made the heart shape.

It is time for a revolution! Or maybe just a new version of Fetishes I Wish I Had.com! If you don’t know Fetishes I Wish I Had is a social fetishing website where users submit fetishes and can watch the popularity grow and see the top popular fetishes.
When I started the site I wanted to make sure everything stayed secret so no one knew who fetished what, and I still stand by that policy. We do not allow user created accounts and we make it easy for anyone to fetish anything they want. In the new version we took out more images and replaced it with CSS and saved a lot of disk space by using PHP to code the whole thing now. In this version it is very easy to navigate with your cell phone and we merged searching fetishes with submitting fetishes. Check it out and give me your suggestions!

Initial Process
I started by taking old designs and websites of mine and thought of how to merge them. After sketching out the plan I made a few alterations and set the design live. This design is CSS and HTML valid and made in PHP.
The Switch to Wordpress
I love Google and Blogger a lot, but it wasn’t getting the job done the way I wanted. The comments were done off-site and so was the posting and it just wasn’t very efficent. Wordpress is the most powerful free blogging software I’ve seen so I went to work on making a full theme for it out of the initial sketches.

My other site where I did a podcast and video-cast called Happy Weasel Hour is now intergrated into Jake Bilbrey.com and has a single RSS feed for doing so. This will be much easier to manage and a lot nicer in the long run. We have a built in audio-player for the podcasts so you don’t have to leave the browser for whitty banter! This all thanks to Podpress.
Transparent PNG Images
With Microsofts recent announcement that they are going to force Internet Explorer 7 on all users and seeing how Internet Explorer 6 was the only browser that did not support transparent PNG images, I did not lower the quality for it. It’s not a hate-Internet Explorer thing, I believe in being usable on all systems, but the only thing Internet Explorer 6 users will notice is there is a gray background.
After along time of no inspiration or success in creating a wallpaper I liked, I have released a new wallpaper called The Vines. It has been called ‘+1 Awesome‘ and ‘+2 Great.’ I don’t know what the plus numbers mean, but oh well, at lest it is turning people on toZicklePop Productions. It is also getting a good rating on InterfaceLift.com, which is nice. I’m really glad to see people like it.
It is less than ten hours until my family opens Christmas presents so the anticipation is rising. Good times.
