7 Photocopies That Apple Made

I love Apple, but they seem to have tried their best to kill the Mac developers free apps and also seem to have flat out copied some things from other companies, such as Sun Microsystems.

  1. Leopard’s Default Grass Background = Windows XP Default “Bliss” Background
  2. The Menu Bar = Vista Areo styling (previously posted)
  3. The Dock = Sun’s Project Looking Glass
  4. Stacks = The Mac app: Todos
  5. The New Finder = The Mac app: Pathfinder (and others)
  6. Spaces = The Mac app: VirtueDesktops (Leopard killed future developement of it!)
  7. iChat effects = Late Night with Conan O’Brien and the Mac app: Toy Sight Gold

Steve Jobs Starts His Photocopiers!

Last years WWDC had big banners stating “Redmond, start your photocopiers” this year Apple started theres by coping the Vista Areo [crap] and placing it where my old beautiful menu bar is. Why? I don’t know. I don’t understand this at all. I thought Apple had design taste? Didn’t they make the iPhone?

iTunes Plus Is NOT A Start

iTunes Plus has just came out with what seems like an awesome idea: DRM-free music. Why is this bad? $1.30 a song! What happened to my sweet $1 song? This, by such Apple fans, has been accepted as a great deal but let me remind you: this isn’t new. eMusic has been doing this forever now. DRM-free, for a lot less then a dollar a song, and 100% legal.

Apple, thanks for taking a step forward and two steps back.

Verizon Has Support?

I bought a Motorola Q back in January and it constantly crashed on phone calls. Got sent a replacement, it refused to ring or even notice incoming calls. Got sent another replacement that crashed on start menu. After hours of yelling at the support lady on the phone I had got her to realize that I will not stick with Verizon if they dare try to send me a 4th replacement for the Motorola Q.

Now, my moms LG phone died upon loading the contact list. We went directly to the Verizon store with the phone that would not turn on after we reset it by taking out the battery.

Verizon replaced my moms phone and told her they would give her a new wrist-strap for the phone, free, seeing how they destroyed the old wrist strap. They told her they would give her a black, white, or brown one. She tried to pick and they would only let her get brown. So she picked brown and they said that would be $3. What the heck? The lady said free.

So my mom had no strap, new phone, and they also failed to back up her contacts. The support given to her was better then what I got when I went to buy a Razr phone in 2005, and with my piece of crap Motorola Q in 2007.
