iTunes 7.2 Released, DRM-Free Songs? No.

Apple just released iTunes 7.2 with “iTunes Plus” support. I just checked the songs and there is no DRM-free songs. So what was the point of releasing this now? Upgrading totally was not something I should have rushed into this morning.

Correction: DRM Songs Hour After Post!

My first correction! Corrections are great, it means my complaint is fixed. The iTunes Plus now has DRM-free songs which is great.

GameStop, Sony, and My PSP Games

I bought a PlayStation Portable when it first came out for the mobile video-watching. Not too long after I bought it there was a hack for Wipeout Pure where one could use the ability to download extra tracks to also surf the internet. I went out and paid $40 for the game just to do this hack for fun. It worked and later this hack was no longer needed when Sony made an offical internet browser for the PSP.

So here is the deal, I went to return Wipeout Pure to the local GameStop and the lady took it gladly, and horridly on GameStop’s part, didn’t tell me I would be getting $1.80 for the game I had spent $40 on!

The bad guys here is the folks at Sony for making BAD games for the PSP (I eventually went out and got a Nintendo DS just for gaming), and it is also the people at GameStop for not telling me I was only going to get $1.80 for this game trade it.

RIP: Don Imus 1982-2007

Imus

Don Imus may not be on the air anymore, but he lays in my heart. Ever since Jan. 2005 I watched him every morning and learned more from his show then most would believe.

If your a judgemental bastard who never watched Imus but hated him anyway, lets go over all the good he did in his career.

  1. In 1990 The Imus In The Morning Radio-thon started where Imus would spend two days raising money for Tomorrows Children’s Fund and The CJ Foundation for SIDs.
  2. In 1999 Don Imus started the “Imus Ranch for Kids with Cancer” for cancer patients and siblings of victums of SIDs.
  3. In 2005 started concern about Autism and tried to use his radio show to get the Pharmacutical Industry to do something.
  4. Late 2006 he fought for Joe Barton to stop playing games with the Autism bill he was holding off until everyone played his game.
  5. He fought politicians to raise the death benifits of American Troops $12,000 to $250,000. In my opinion that makes the government look worse then Imus and his bad joke.

There is a lot more I could get into but lets leave it at that. The people who supported Imus getting off the air didn’t hurt him. Imus has enough money to raise his kid to a high-end college. You hurt the kids with cancer and autism Imus fought so hard to help.

Thanks “Emperors of Black People”!

HD DVD is Killing Digg

Make Art The string “09 F9 11 02 9D 74 E3 5B D8 41 56 C5 63 56 88 C0″ is the HD DVD processing code for coping your HD-DVDs to your computer. This was handed out by the HD DVD people in a cease and desist letter and the fact they handed this out was a shock seeing how it’s their private password to protect their content.

But Digg, the editor-free news site, has been editing their news to remove these stories. So far they have not even allowed stories about the HD DVD conflict to be posted without the “09 F9 11 02 9D 74 E3 5B D8 41 56 C5 63 56 88 C0″ key.

UPDATE: Kevin Rose has offically recalled the crap they pulled and appologized. No word on the banned accounts of the people who posted the code.
