Don’t Buy a Motorola Q

BSOD Moto Q…Or rely on Verizon to have common sense.

I’ve had a Motorola Q since January 18th 2007 and ever since then I have loved it over previous phones. I mean you can install free applications on it! But running your own applications on a phone is only cool if it works as a phone.

The first issue with my Motorola Q was that when I hung up on someone the phone would freeze and then I would have to pop out the battery. The issue with my replacement Motorola Q is that it will not ring when someone calls.

I’m getting my third Motorola Q this Friday because Verizon says “I have to test these features so they can find the bugs and fix them.” So this means I am their guinea pig? I pay to be a beta tester now is that it? Forget that! They also told me I could not get a Palm Treo 700p unless I pay $620 after I’ve already paid $150 for a phone that doesn’t work. After this, I asked how much it would cost to cancel the account. To this they said it would be $165 dollars.

I called back later and told them to place the replacement order and they told me I could get a different phone if this one didn’t work out. I suspect I will be calling them back next week for some technical errors.

In closing: If I have to pay $600 for a phone, it will be the iPhone and I will be on Cingulars network where the crooks have Apple products.

The Amazing Tumblr

TumblrIn this world of Web 2.0 we have a presence on many sites like Digg, Twitter, Flickr, and others. The concept Tumblr is to have everything you “tumble” upon come to one place. When I post on any of my favourite sites Tumblr grabs the posted content and places it on my Tumblr page via RSS feed.

Tumblr can even be used with your mobile phone for viewing and posting and can also be hooked up to it’s own domain name. They let you customize your templates to fully fit you needs. All of this runs for the low price of free!
