US Today reports that Verizon Wireless rejected Apple’s offer to carry the iPhone exclusively due to Apple’s terms. According to the article, Apple wanted “a percentage of the monthly cellphone fees, say over how and where iPhones could be sold and control of the relationship with iPhone customers.”
This year I’ve gotten a few side projects. My personal project PlayMii.net. It is my website dedicated to the Wii that is currently under construction. I’ll keep you updated.
I also have taken the job of doing the website for a local band called Collin Wood. Now they wanted something simple so I just decided to play around with iWeb to do it and iWeb isn’t that bad, but like I said they wanted something VERY simple. In all honesty most band sites suck. Flash, automatic music, ugly colors, and they will resize your page! Why!? I don’t know.
My other project is from a local school who needed a website. I decided to go with a user contributed website so they can edit it their self easily and to do this I’m using Drupal and keeping it pretty simple also. Covenant Academy Warriors is the site and no, I did not purchase this domain name. It’s too long for me to type! But I have to use what I’ve got. I just hope they don’t make me use flashy images because they sound like their trying to push me that way. Animated images are god-awful and only turn off the viewer.
Now I know these sites are very simple and I’m going back to making my CSS-full and design-y websites don’t you worry!
Okay the other day I was in a bad mood (iPhone only for Cingular!!!) and really bored so I went out and bought Elebits for the Nintendo Wii. This game is awesome. As you know I loved LocoRoco, the cute little tilt-the-world game. This is the cute little grab/lift/throw around-the-world.
I often get told I suck at ‘Hide and go Seek’. This game confirms that. There are numerous missions and they grade you like in school. You ‘capture’ Elebits and these little things bring electricity (in volts). Some missions get very specific like ‘don’t make noise over 60 dBs!’ and then you can also pick stuff up. Everything in a level can eventually be picked up by powering up your ‘capture gun’. It’s actually well put together.
My only complaint is that when you throw something in your way on accident and you can’t walk can get very annoying. I just got stuck under a ladder and I couldn’t get out. But I should also say this happens very rarely 9 times out of 10 you can move the object out of the way.
Overall: I love it. I’m not much of a First-Person-Shooter person so you can take this how you want.
This time instead of writing an article for the internet about everything, I am going to just post a notebook page of my notes that I took LIVE as Macworld was happening over 2000 miles away!
The New York Times, Think Secret, MacRumors, Morgan Stanly, and countless others say so. As time gets closer I am thinking there won’t be one. Rumor is one provider is stopping it. Who? Probably Verizon because Apple wouldn’t let them cripple and CRAPple the device like all there other phones.
I pray it comes out, it probably will not though. If not, I hope the same hell that landed on Gizmodo will land upon them.
Okay! So you didn’t get me something for Christmas? It’s not to late! I have a birthday coming up on the 19th of January! Here is my list of amazing stuff you can get me.
After the rough year that was 2006, the year of the dog, I think I have a list of my top gadgets!
1. Nintendo Wii
It’s revolutionary controls, decent graphics, and awesome look make this a clear cut winner. When I’m done typing I’m going back to playing with my Wii.
2. Intel iMac
This thing is amazing! I love the sleek look and capabilities of my iMac.
3. Nintendo DS Lite
The portable gaming system is small and perfect for on the go gaming. The battery life is amazing, kicks the Playstation Portables battery badly.
4. iPod Shuffle 2nd Gen
What? Why would I like a mini iPod? No screen? Only 1 GB? So! It’s perfectly portable and has a very long battery life. Big enough to keep me busy for hours and the music quality is much better then the bigger brother iPod.
