60GB iPod

60GB iPodThis device I was really excited about getting my hands on, and so was my friends before I threatened to kill them and their family if they touched it. This device I have treated with over-care. I keep it in a Apple Sock. This device is perfect for one-person video watching and listening to music. This device gets my wow but I wish they sold it with a dock (among many other things). I will say after how amazing this device is (seductively beautiful body and screen, cute scroll wheel) it does take finger prints easily. Just so you know: yeah you can fast forward and rewind videos - there was some confusion about this in the tech world, hold down the left or right buttons on the click wheel.

Pros:
Videos
Screen
Excellent Syncing
TV-Out
Works as external hard drive.

Cons:
Can only connect the iPod to one computer. (It whines when you connect it to another.)
Apple’s own Dock-Connector
Doesn’t Ship with Dock
Doesn’t Ship with Video-to-TV Cable
Doesn’t Ship with Wall Charger
Video-Battery Life Can Suck (It does save your place though.)

Verizon Razr V3c

Motorola Razr V3c from VerizonI hated my old LG 6000 cell phone, and as a geek I couldn’t keep it anymore, so I went out and bought the Verizon Wireless Razr V3c for $300 - they are mailing me a $100 rebate that they “couldn’t do easily in the store” like they do online. This isn’t going to be a review on Verizon as much as the phone, but they gave me hell about me wanting a new phone. So after watching the Verizon lady rip open my Razr and pull off the coverings with no respect for the device, it was in my hands! I instantly took my cleaning cloth to it to remove her face make-up, spit, and sweaty hands. It has a brilliant display but the keypad is becoming the ultimate finger-dirt collector. Verizon had the Motorola’s Razr interface ‘redone for the better of the user’, which means you get a red-looking interface that says Verizon all over it. Overall it is better then my LG 6000, but if I play a midi-file or a song on it all my ringtones get messed up then you have to go set them all again.

Pros:
It’s not LG.
Thin, wide, and long when unflipped.
It can play less than 1MB MP3’s e-mailed to your phone.
Video Recording
Nice Camera

Cons:
Can’t remove a speed dial. (sometimes which are automatically applied)
Can’t change a e-mail speed dial. (or remove it)
Can’t play music without messing up all your ringtones.
Can’t run applications due to Verizon’s crippling.
Crippled Bluetooth. (Headset Use Only, Can Sync with hard work.)
No flash on the camera.
Verizon Wireless interface.
Expensive! ($300/$200)

Hacks:
I’ve gotten my Razr, even though crippled by Verizon and Apple, to sync with iSync. By replacing iSync 2.1 with a hacked version.
